Meta Platform Data

VibeMyAd integrates with Meta Platforms, Inc. ("Meta") — Facebook and Instagram — through Meta's Graph API and Marketing API. This section describes exactly what Meta data we access and how we handle it.

Data you authorize us to access

When you connect your Meta account to VibeMyAd, we request the following permissions and access only the data they cover:

  • pages_show_list — the list of Facebook Pages you manage (Page IDs and names)
  • pages_read_engagement — engagement data for your Pages (likes, comments, shares, follower counts)
  • pages_read_user_content — content on your Pages (posts, including copy, images and video), and the name of whoever posted it. Because we read your Page's full feed, this includes posts other people have written on your Page as well as your own, and we label which is which
  • read_insights — performance metrics for the posts on your Pages, read one post at a time (view counts for each post)
  • instagram_basic — the Instagram professional account linked to your Pages (account ID, username, profile information)
  • instagram_manage_insights — performance metrics for each piece of media on your Instagram account (views, reach, saves and shares)
  • ads_read — read-only access to the ad accounts you connect:
    • their campaigns, ad sets and ads — structure, status, schedule and creative (ad copy, headlines and Meta's rendered preview images)
    • performance metrics such as impressions, reach, frequency, clicks, spend, conversions and return on ad spend
    • the audience each ad set targets: age and gender ranges, locations (down to cities and the radius around them), interests, behaviours, job titles, employers, industries, life events, demographic categories, device and placement choices, and whether Advantage+ audience expansion is on
    • the names of the saved and lookalike audiences an ad set includes or excludes. These are labels you created in Meta (for example "Website visitors, 180 days"), and we show them back to you so you can tell your ad sets apart. We do not receive the people in them — Meta never discloses audience membership, and we cannot see who is in one
    • for catalog and dynamic product ads, the names and images of the products in the catalog the ad draws from, since Meta returns no single creative image for those
    • how an ad was actually delivered, when you ask for it: the split of its impressions, clicks and spend by viewer age band, gender, region and platform. These are Meta's aggregate counts. Meta does not identify individual viewers to us and we never receive personal data about them

We request read-only access. We do not create, edit, pause or delete anything in your Meta account, and we never write to it.

We also store the OAuth access tokens required to make these API calls on your behalf, and timestamps of when your data was last synchronized. Those tokens are held in access-restricted storage and encrypted in transit and at rest.

When you disconnect, we always delete our copy of your tokens, and we ask Meta to withdraw the permissions you granted us. That second step can fail — most often when the token has already expired — and we delete our copy either way, so a failure never leaves us holding your credentials. If you want to be certain the grant itself is gone, you can also remove VibeMyAd from your Meta account settings, which revokes it at Meta's end immediately.

How we use Meta platform data

We use Meta platform data solely to provide our services to you: displaying your Pages and Instagram content, reading your connected ad accounts to report on your own advertising performance — including who each ad set targeted and how Meta actually delivered it, so you can compare the two — grounding the ad creatives we generate for you in your own historical results, and — when you ask for it — using your connected Instagram account to look up the public profile of another business you want to benchmark against (see Competitor data comes from public sources below).

Posts written by other people on your Page are excluded from creative generation. We read your Page's whole feed, so those posts reach us, and we show them to you labelled as visitor posts. But when we ground the ad creatives we generate in your own content, we use only the posts your Page published — somebody else's words are not yours to generate from, and treating them as your brand voice would be wrong twice over.

We do not use Meta platform data to train models that serve other customers, for advertising or profiling, or share it with data brokers. Meta platform data connected by your account is never shown to any other VibeMyAd customer.

Competitor data comes from public sources

VibeMyAd's competitor ad tracking features (tracking brands, analyzing competitor ads) are built on the publicly available Meta Ad Library. That data reaches us independently of your account and does not use the permissions you grant us.

Our Instagram benchmarking feature works differently, and we want to be precise about it. When you look up another business's Instagram professional account, we read that account's public profile and post data — follower count, number of posts, and the captions and public engagement counts on its recent posts. The data is public, but the route to it is not: Meta's business_discovery API only returns it to a connected Instagram professional account, so the request is made using the Instagram account you connected, under the instagram_basic and instagram_manage_insights permissions listed above.

We never receive another business's private metrics this way. Reach, impressions and saves are not available through business_discovery for accounts you do not own, we do not request them, and we do not show them.

We never use one customer's connected Meta account data to surface information to another customer. Benchmarking reads public data about the account you name — it never draws on another VibeMyAd customer's connected account.

Deleting your Meta platform data

You can revoke our access and have your Meta platform data deleted at any time — see our Data Deletion Instructions page. We delete Meta platform data within 30 days of your deletion request, as described in the Data Retention section below.
